
JOB OPENING Publications Director
Theology Department
Hours: 35 hours per week (may require some evenings and weekends)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the publication, marketing, and distribution of The Sower, a quarterly, international catechetical journal, and other catechetical resources for the Catechetical Institute of Franciscan University of Steubenville. Coordinate the production schedule and editorial content of The Sower with the Maryvale Institute in England and the North American editorial board. Coordinate printing, advertising, circulation, and mailing of The Sower. Hire graphic designers and editors as needed for print publications. Manage the bid process for print projects and mailing. Create and maintain a publications budget. Other job-related duties as assigned. This position reports to the vice president for Academic Affairs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or related field. Catechetical writing experience a plus. Should have strong familiarity with all aspects of the publication process. Minimum of three years' management experience in consumer magazines desired. Experience in marketing and circulation a strong plus. Must have the ability to multitask and work well under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills. Must have the ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision on complex and multiple assignments. Must understand and support the mission of Franciscan University.

Watch for Posted Notices!
- There is a BULLETIN BOARD outside (across the hall from) the Theology Department Secretary's Office (Rm. 254, Egan) that has a listing of theology student advisors. Please make sure you check this list to see who your advisor is each semester.
- There are also two bulletin boards that have postings for theology undergraduates and graduates with announcements, scholarship info., and other university information. Please make sure you check them regularly.
- Also, throughout the semester you may see signs posted that the Theology Department will be presenting speakers. ALL Theology majors are encouraged to attend.
- Students are strongly encouraged to attend the Academic Honors Convocation and Reception.
- For those of you doing your seminar/thesis, watch for posted notices. Dr. Regis Martin, Director of Undergraduate Theology will post notices of meetings, etc. You may reach Dr. Martin in Egan Hall, Room 251, or call him at (740) 283-6245 ext. 2324 during his scheduled office hours.
YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION WITH THE REGISTRARS OFFICE (ENROLLMENT SERVICES IN EGAN HALL) TWO SEMESTERS BEFORE YOU INTEND TO GRADUATE. Please do not wait until the last minute to find out that you can not graduate because you don't have the courses you need. All students must meet with their advisors to go over their course work and make sure they have the proper courses when filling out their application for graduation.
