Students wishing to study in Gaming, Austria should reserve the following for their AUSTRIAN SEMESTER COURSES: ENG 205 Studies in Drama, PHL 113 Philosophy of the Human Person or PHL 211 Metaphysics, HST 323 Medieval World or HST 403 French Revolution and Nineteenth Century Europe, THE 341 Christian Marriage or THE 436 Special Topics Offering, GRM 101, 102, 201, or 202. Your advisor will help you make adjustments in your required classes.
***HONOR STUDENTS: You will substitute HON 101, 102, 201, 202, 301, 302, 401, 402 for the courses indicated. Students going to Austria will be allowed to audit one section except HON 401 or 402.
What are the goals and objectives for student achievement in the Theology Major?
- Majors will be challenged to deepen their knowledge of the Catholic Faith, in particular, and Christianity in general. This Goal is addressed in all courses in the major.
- Students majoring in Theology will be shown how to minister more effectively in the church from a perspective of prayer, sacramental preparation and proclamation of the Gospel on various levels. This Goal is addressed in THE 306, 314, 324, 341, 350, 409, 418, 445, and 450.
- Majors are given a sound grounding in Catholic Theology both in the systematic and moral spheres. This Goal is addressed in the required courses THE 101, 115, 211, 212, 213, 214, and 314.

GENERAL EDUCATION GOALS AND CORE CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Students will be exposed to a broad spectrum of human knowledge areas so that they can come to understand themselves in relation to the natural world, to human society, and to God. This Goal is addressed in courses in Natural Science, Social Science, Humanities, Theology.
- In order to be able to communicate effectively, students will be exposed to courses which are designed to develop their analytical abilities and their facility with the written and spoken word. This Goal is addressed in courses in Communications Core (writing, logic, math, computer science, speech, foreign languages).
- Students will gain knowledge based in values and an understanding of their vocation to service of all this is good and beautiful. This Goal is addressed in courses in Philosophy, Theology, and Fine Arts, Literature, and courses from other disciplines dealing directly with value questions.
