Upcoming Philosophy Department Lectures
Alfred Freddoso of Notre Dame University will speak at the Philosophy Department’s annual Edith Stein Lecture. His topic will be: Fides et Ratio: A Radical Vision of Intellectual Inquiry. The lecture will occur on Sunday April 7, 2002 at 8:00 PM in the Pugleisi Auditorium in Cosmos and Damian Hall. A reception follows the talk.
Thomas Sullivan of the St. Thomas University will speak on the topic of the relationship between faith and reason. This lecture is scheduled for Wednesday April 17, 2002 at 8:00 pm in Room 206 of Cosmos and Damian Hall.
Bruce Foltz of Eckerd College will give a lecture entitled “The Other Side of Nature” on Thursday April 18, 2002, at 8:30 pm in the Seminar Room of the St. Joseph Center.
James DuBois of St. Louis University will give a lecture entitled “The Embryo in the Public Square: The Forging of a Public Philosophy of Human Life” on Friday April 19, 2002 at 4:00 pm in the Seminar Room of the St. Joseph Center.
Louis Dupré of Yale University will give a lecture entitled “The Future of Western Christianity: Reflections at the Beginning of the New Millennium” on Monday April 22, 8:30 pm in the Seminar Room, St. Joseph’s Center.
Josef Seifert of the International Academy of Philosophy will give a lecture entitled “Realist Phenomenology and the Dialogue Between Moslems and Christians: Do We Pray to the Same God?” on Friday, April 26, 2002 at 8:00 pm in the Seminar Room, St. Joseph’s Center.
