ART 106

DRAWING involves the study of the relationships of objective form, figure, head, still life, and landscape in quick sketches and in long studies. Media used include pencil, charcoal, ink, wash, and chalk.

ART 114

METHODS IN ART EDUCATION is a study of the artistic characteristics of young children and methods of teaching art. Students develop lessons that incorporate art history and art appreciation and/or integrate art into the content areas. Students are also provided opportunities to develop appropriate ways of analyzing and evaluating the art of children. A minimum of 10 clinical hours is required.

Prerequisite: Art 303 2 credit hours

ART 117

GRAPHIC AND MUSICAL ARTS is a survey of the development of painting, sculpture, architecture, crafts, dance, vocal, and instrumental music, etc., from their beginnings to modern times.

ART APPRECIATION is a general survey of Western art through visual and experiential approaches. (Humanities Core)

DESIGN AND CRAFTS stresses the integration of arts and crafts with all school subjects. The study of tools, processes, and application of creative design to suit the individual craft problem is undertaken. Education majors only. A minimum of 10 clinical hours is required.
