Ancient and Biblical Language Program to be OfferedSTEUBENVILLE, Ohio—Franciscan University of Steubenville announces the debut of the Summer Institute of Ancient and Biblical Languages, in June 2003.

The institute offers intensive courses in Latin, Greek, and introductory courses in biblical Hebrew. It is designed to provide students with the opportunity to study and learn how to read classical, early Christian, and biblical texts.

"The institute is a great way for students to learn Greek, Latin, or Hebrew in an exhilarating environment," says Franciscan University Classics Professor Dr. Joseph Almeida. "Students of theology, philosophy, and ancient history will especially benefit from this experience." Undergraduate students or qualified high school students can earn 12 foreign language credits for completing the summer Greek or Latin programs, and six credits for summer Hebrew.

The intensive Greek and Latin programs will each run for 10 weeks, and introductory Hebrew will run for five weeks. Full-time Franciscan University theology and classics faculty members will teach the classes; tuition varies with each program.

To apply, or for more information, visit the Institutešs Web page at http://www.franciscan.edu/languages/institute/, or call Dr. Joseph Almeida at (740) 283-6245, Ext. 2347.
